Myth: The Hydra was a 9 headed dragon from ancient Greece. One of Herakles 12 labors was to defeat the Hydra. He soon found out that no matter how many times, you cut off it's heads, they will regrow. So he burnt the stumps of the heads before they regrew and slew the Hydra.
Description: The Hydra can be found near Lake Lerna in Greece. The Hydra can be recognized by it's sharp teeth, pointy horns, scaly reptillian body, and of course 9 heads that can split into 2 when cut off. The Hydra can shoot many different substances out of it's mouths, like, fire, acid, and other nasty things. It can smell something miles away and sneak up behind it's prey without it even noticing.
Destruction: As in the myth, the Hydra can only be defeated by cutting off it's heads and burning the stumps before they regrow. So don't forget to pack matches for your next trip to the lake. Good luck adventurer.
I suggest you add Ogre, like Shrek. A hideous giant of fairy tales and folklore that feeds on human beings. The latin root Orcus means god of the underworld.
